Helping link education and business

In: Energy Cell Press Releases

We are proud to announce that our very own Andy Clayton has been appointed to the Lincoln Area Board for Young Enterprise.

Andy, who also sits on the committee for Lincoln Business Club and mentors at the University of Lincoln, is delighted to have been accepted to the board and hopes that he can help make a difference in linking education to business in the Lincolnshire area –

“It’s something that I’ve always been passionate about as I believe that there is a gap between education and the commercial world, by involving myself with Young Enterprise at board level I hope to help influence the way the programme moves forward within Lincoln and therefore benefits the area”

This is not the first time Andy has been involved in Young Enterprise, during 2009/10 he was a business advisor to a company set up by students at Robert Pattinson School in Lincoln, and in April this year he was one of the 3 judges for the Lincoln area final held at Riseholme Campus –

“The quality of the reports, presentations and the innovation shown by the companies never fails to amaze me, we can’t forget that they are only 16/17 and run the businesses alongside their A levels which shows a lot of commitment and determination.”

Andy believes that the students who take part in the company programme can feel the benefit for years to come –

“By engaging with the programme it gives the students a great insight and experience into business and sets them up well when applying for University and future jobs, helping to set themselves apart from their competitors.”
